Our woodwind service is very popular amongst college professors, symphony musicians, advanced students, and professional players in Northern California. We offer a variety of custom pad work from J. Schmidt Gold flute pads to custom Sax and Clarinet precision Kangaroo skin pads with special tone boosters. Our pro clarinet work also features custom-made premium cork pads that retain their shape through years of use. We also offer goretex pads and synthetic pads and manufacturers suggested pads. We buy the finest pads available!
We also perform expert dent removal for saxophones, neck rebuilds, and refitting of necks. We repair damaged bells and bows, straighten bent bodies, soft solder broken pieces, and silver solder broken parts and keys. We often remanufacture parts that are no longer available and perform restoration on older instruments. John completely restored an original 1854 Adolph Alto Sax and brought it back to its original glory. We do work for many Grammy award-winning recording artists.

Brass Instrument Repair

Our Brass horn service features fine valve repair, slide work, hand slide work and professional dent removal. We provide ultrasonic cleaning and complete reassembly and lubricating. Valve felts and water key corks are replaced with new parts.

Instrument Cleaning

We also feature state-of-the-art ultrasonic cleaning of many types of instruments. Each instrument is specially examined to ensure the best possible cleaning needed for each individual circumstance. The solution is specifically chosen and fresh and new for each ultrasonic cleaning. We pride ourselves in actually getting your instrument clean, not just giving you the ‘impression’ that it has been cleaned. Everything gets reoiled and lubed and the instrument gets a complete adjustment and regulation. This removes all spit and debris and totally cleans the inside of the instrument to give you more longevity to the pads on woodwinds and keep them from getting sticky.

String Instrument Repair

We also set up guitars, violins, violas and cellos.

We do guitar truss rod adjustments and restringing. We make and fit bridges on violins and violas, refit pegs and restring. We replace fine tuners and reset sound posts. We have replacement bows for each.
